'Star Trek: Picard' lands on Amazon Prime today and we'll have the review live on site later today, but this is a beautiful way to start it all off.

Patrick Stewart has been on the promotional trail for the show for the past couple of weeks, and stopped by 'The View' to talk to his old pal and former castmember, Whoopi Goldberg. For those who may not remember, Goldberg played Guinan on 'Star Trek: The Next Generation', the bartender on the USS Enterprise and one of Picard's closest confidants.

At the time, Goldberg was a pretty huge movie star - just off the likes of 'Sister Act', 'Ghost', and so on - so moving into TV was something of an oddity. The reason she did it, she said, was because she was inspired to get into acting because of Nichelle Nichols on the original 'Star Trek' series.

Her contribution to 'Star Trek: The Next Generation' really can't be overstated, and she was as much a part of the crew and cast as any of them - so this moment between Stewart and Goldberg was so sweet to see, and it's understandable why Goldberg got a little misty-eyed when it happened.

During Stewart's interview on 'The View', he paused proceedings and flat-out asked Goldberg to come join the cast of 'Star Trek: Picard' in its second season, reprising her role as Guinan.

Here's the moment as it happened.
