Following on from his success as the lead of 'Lupin', Omar Sy has signed a multi-year feature film deal with Netflix.

Omar Sy would also be known for his role in the French film 'Untouchable', or 'Intouchables', in which he plays the caregiver of a wealthy quadriplegic.

The Netflix deal will see the actor's Paris and L.A.-based production company develop original films for Netflix.

Omar Sy will both star in and act as executive producer on the projects.

The series 'Lupin', in which he plays the titular charming master thief, was a huge hit for Netflix, smashing viewership records worldwide.

In a statement, the French actor said: "I have experienced Netflix’s collaboration with artists and their passion to bring unique and diverse stories to homes all over the world.

"I am very happy to have the opportunity to extend the relationship and look forward to this next step of our journey together."

Details for Omar Sy's first project as part of the deal have already emerged.

He'll be rejoining 'Lupin' director Louis Leterrier in a comedy film called 'Tour de France', co-starring Laurent Lafitte.

It launches on Netflix next year.
