Making one final excursion as the fan-favourite Jedi Master, 'Obi-Wan Kenobi' will answer many fan questions - and more importantly - gift us with yet another eagerly-anticipated series based in that galaxy far far away...
Now streaming exclusively on Disney+, 'Obi-Wan Kenobi' is the latest original series in the Star Wars franchise, joining the ranks of other feverishly-viewed creations 'The Mandalorian', 'The Book of Boba Fett', 'The Bad Batch' and 'Visions'.
And so, let's kick it into hyperdrive and take a look at why 'Obi-Wan Kenobi' on Disney+ is so eagerly anticipated this summer as a brand new, untold chapter in the Star Wars canon unfolds.
But... I Thought Obi-Wan Was Dead?
In the current timeline of events, yes, but this is a prequel series dear reader. 'Obi-Wan Kenobi' is set to bridge the gap between 'Revenge of the Sith' and 'A New Hope', taking place 10 years after the formative events of Episode III.
One of the last times we saw Obi-Wan in the flesh was during the gripping lightsaber stand-off against the man who used to be called Anakin Skywalker. Injuring his former Jedi-in-training after he learns that he's adopted the ways of The Dark Side, Obi-Wan then delivers Anakin's son, Luke, to his step-aunt and uncle, Owen and Beru Lars. It's believed he then goes into exile, watching over the child to ensure he grows up safely.
Take 'Obi-Wan Kenobi' as a "What did Anakin Skywalker do next?" series of sorts. We'll join Obi-Wan in the shadows as he attempts to find out exactly what did happen to the Jedi master who embraced his Dark Side, while he also keeps an eye on one of the future fighters in the Rebel Alliance.
It's The Return Of The Jedi - And Darth Vadar
The unmissable limited series will see a number of iconic faces return to the franchise for the first time in many years, including Ewan McGregor and Hayden Christensen. McGregor is back in the saddle as the moniker of the series, while Christensen is back as *deep inhale* Darth Vadar.
Owen and Beru Lars will also be back on the scene, with Joel Edgerton and Bonnie Piesse reprising their roles from 'Episode II' and 'Episode III'.
Who Else Is Joining In On The Action?
Not to overwhelm you, but there are plenty of other recognisable faces making their Star Wars debuts in the 'Obi-Wan Kenobi' series. Moses Ingram ('The Queen's Gambit') will play Reva, a ruthless Inquisitor; while an unrecognisable Rupert Friend ('Homeland') will play the menacing Grand Inquisitor. Kumail Nanjiani ('The Eternals') is also part of the cast but in an undisclosed role.
Of course, with the series taking place 10 years after the events of 'Revenge of the Sith', there's a young Luke Skywalker on the scene. Newcomer Grant Feely joins the cast as 10-year-old Luke.
Why Is Obi-Wan Back Now?
Nostalgia, nostalgia, nostalgia: it's one of the pillars of the most recent Star Wars trilogy. Disney+, LucasFilm and Star Wars are bringing back one of the most admired of all of the Star Wars characters as he goes up against one of the most well-recognised villains ever created.
While it's unlikely that 'Obi-Wan Kenobi' will get a second series run, there's nothing stopping LucasFilm from taking one of the characters (Darth Vadar perhaps?) and creating his own spin-off series.

The six-part limited series has dropped a double-helping of episodes today, meaning you'll already be a third of the way through the series after your 'Obi-Wan Kenobi' launch marathon. Then, you won't have to wait too much longer until the next episode, as episodes three to six will premiere on Disney+ each Wednesday thereafter.
With the season finale launching on June 22, it'll be a busy month for Star Wars fans.
