Documentaries have, since the dawn of the streaming era, examined all sorts of topics and have truly proliferated with the likes of Netflix and Prime Video.

Yet, it's only just now that Nicolas Cage has found a way to plant himself in the documentary genre. To that end, Nicolas Cage is now set to host a documentary series for Netflix that will explore the etymology and impact of curse words in the English language.

'The History of Swear Words' will see the Oscar-winning actor and star of such movies like 'Bangkok Dangerous', 'Left Behind', and 'The Croods' explore a unique curse word in each episode. The episodes will focus on "fuck," "shit," "bitch," "dick," "pussy" and "damn" and, presumably, try them out in different scenarios as well as examining their own connotations and societal impact.

The series is the first streaming show Cage has been a part of, although he is set to star in a voice role for an upcoming series on Prime Video where he'll play (and we're not joking here) an alcoholic dragon who lives in a swamp in Louisiana.

The series lands on Netflix from January 5th, with all six episodes streaming simultaneously. Here's a little snifter of what to expect.
