Netflix has secured the rights to a Kanye West documentary series, which spans over two decades.

An upcoming Netflix Kanye West docuseries will premiere on the streaming giant in the near future. According to reports, the streaming company shelled out $30 million in order to secure it as a Netflix Original. According to a source who spoke with Variety, however, this figure is not accurate.

The documentary series is still untitled but will delve into the last twenty years of the rapper's life. The series is said to include never-before-seen footage of Kanye West and will cover all of his personal ups and downs. From his vast music career, the rise of his fashion empire and Yeezy brand, his marriage with Kim Kardashian, his 2020 presidential bid, as well as the death of his mother in 2007, all of this and more will be covered. The rapper and entrepreneur was also diagnosed with bipolar disorder in 2016, which is likely to be touched upon also.

According to Billboard, the Netflix Kanye West series will arrive on our screens later this year.

The documentary was shot over the past two decades by Clarence "Coodie" Simmons and Chike Ozah, who has previously filmed West’s 'Jesus Walks (Version 3)' and 'Through the Wire' music videos.

Most recently, Kim Kardashian has filed for divorce against her husband. The couple were married for over six years, and have three children together - Saint West, Chicago, and Psalm. It is unknown if this divorce will make it into the docuseries.

Earlier this year, West won his first Gospel Grammy Award for 'Jesus In King'. So far in his career, he's had 22 Grammy wins out of 70 nominations.
