Netflix has hedged its bets on the 'Stranger Things' star for yet another big franchise.

16-year-old Millie Bobby Brown will star in the lead role of Netflix's next big young adult adaptation 'The Girls I've Been'. She will produce the movie alongside 'Arrested Development' and 'Ozark' star Jason Bateman.

Based on the novel by Tess Sharpe, the page-turner tells the story of Nora O'Malley, a young woman who has learned a lot of tricks from her con artist mother to become her own talented crook. Alongside her ex-boyfriend Wes and her secret girlfriend Iris, the three of them are taken hostage by two bank robbers - who have no idea the enigma they are dealing with.

The movie promises to be just as intense as the sourse material it's based on, and with Bateman on board to produce we reckon this has the potential to be a hit.

Deadline broke 'The Girls I've Been' news, and Netflix later confirmed it with their tweet.

Millie Bobby Brown shot to stardom as super-powered Eleven in The Duffer Brothers' 'Stranger Things'. While it might be some time before we see her back on our screens for season four of the sci-fi series, she'll play the lead role in Netflix's big September release 'Enola Holmes', an alternate take on Arthur Conan Doyle's Shecklock Holmes.
