The 34-year-old stage actor has been getting more notable roles of late, with this being his biggest yet.
Fra Fee is set to join Luke Evans and Gosh Gad in the Disney+ prequel series of the live-action 'Beauty and the Beast'.
Fee, from Killyman in County Tyrone, has a strong background in musical theatre and performing arts, having had roles in West End productions as well as in Dublin and Belfast. He also starred in Jez Butterworth's 'The Ferryman' on Broadway.
His most recent role, however, has been on Disney+/Marvel's latest MCU series 'Hawkeye'. Fee played the role of Kazi, who was one of the main mobsters from the Tracksuit Mafia who was constantly thwarting the leading duo's efforts; he and Maya/Echo (Alaqua Cox) had a close relationship before the fallout that happened in the season finale.
Fra Fee shared the 'Beauty and the Beast' series news on his Instagram page, writing: "'Some day my prince will come…' THRILLED to be joining [Luke Evans] & [Josh Gad] on this. The wee lad who watched the beast turn into the prince repeatedly on VHS is even more so."
Set years before Belle and Beast meet, the Disney+ prequel series will follow two fan-favourites, Gaston (Evans) and LeFou (Gad), on an adventure to find LeFou’s stepsister, Tilly (Briana Middleton). Fra Fee will play the role of a prince named Benoit Berlioz, who is a childhood friend of Tilly and has grown into "a handsome, charismatic, confident prince".
During this main trio's journey, a surprising revelation from Tilly's past comes to light and sets them off on an unexpected journey around the magical kingdom with many secrets unfolding along the way.
The eight-episode limited musical series doesn't have an official title yet, and production is expected to begin in the spring of this year. An original soundtrack is being penned by Disney's award-winning and EGOT composer Alan Menken, with Tony Award-nominated director Liesl Tommy to executive produce and direct the pilot episode.
