Ahead of its Broadway debut this November, the musical stage version of the life of the late royal will be available to view beforehand via the streaming service.

'Diana: The Musical' arrives on Netflix later this autumn and the streamer has released the first-look trailer of the Broadway production in action.

As we can see in the trailer below, Jeanna de Waal stars as the titular historic figure in this musical adaptation, with Roe Hartrampf as Prince Charles, Judy Kaye as Queen Elizabeth, and Erin Davie as Camilla Parker Bowles.

Described as a World Premiere Event, important moments from Diana's life will be set to musical numbers, with the later years of her life as a member of The Royal Family expected to take up the majority of proceedings. We see scenes from her and Prince Charles' first meeting, Diana wearing her wedding dress, the arrival of Prince William, and her being surrounded by the British media.

The trailer for the musical is set to the song 'If', which is one of the final songs of the show.

'Diana: The Musical' is directed by Tony Award-winner Christopher Ashley ('Come From Away', 'Memphis'), and was filmed in 2020 at the Longacre Theatre without an audience. The musical has book and lyrics by Joe DiPietro ('Memphis') and music and lyrics by keyboard played from Bon Jovi, David Bryan.

Here's the trailer for the musical production - which has been getting very mixed reactions from viewers online.

The musical production releases ahead of the upcoming Princess Diana biopic starring Kristen Stewart, 'Spencer'. The film hits cinemas this November.

'Diana: The Musical' arrives on Netflix on October 1.
