2D animation meets 3D animation meets live-action in this new Disney+ feature film.

"Ch-Ch-Ch-Chip n' Dale: Rescue Rangers" are back in all of their glory and Disney+ has dropped the trailer for the upcoming May release.

Looking like a modern (less-adult) take on 'Who Framed Roger Rabbit', the family film features the voices of John Mulaney and Andy Samberg as the titular duo. However, this time around, they're looking slightly different.

A straight-up sequel to the famed 80's animation series, the family adventure will see some of our favourite Disney characters appear as guest stars. It sees the two chipmunks join forces once again, years after their beloved TV series was cancelled, and after parting ways to forge different careers.

Chip (Mulaney) has succumbed to a life of suburban domesticity as an insurance salesman, while Dale (Samberg), has had "CGI surgery", working the nostalgia convention circuit in a desperate attempt to relive his glory days.

However, with six missing Toons still nowhere to be found, including a former castmate who mysteriously disappeared, Chip and Dale must repair their broken friendship and take on their Rescue Rangers detective personas once again to save their friend’s life.

Plus, not all of Disney's Toons are as good-natured as we've been led to believe for all these years - because Peter Pan has grown up, and he's a little nasty. Voiced by Will Arnett, he appears to be the villain of this first mystery that the chipmunks will have to solve since coming out of retirement.

Joining Mulaney, Samberg and Arnett are KiKi Layne ('If Beale Street Could Talk'), Eric Bana ('Dirty John'), Flula Borg ('Pitch Perfect 2'), Dennis Haysbert ('24'), Keegan-Michael Key ('Schmigadoon!'), Tress MacNeille ('The Simpsons'), Tim Robinson ('I Think You Should Leave') with Seth Rogen ('Pam and Tommy'), J.K. Simmons ('Being the Ricardos') and Chris Parnell ('Saturday Night Live').

Here's the 'Chip n' Dale: Rescue Rangers' trailer.

'Chip n’ Dale: Rescue Rangers' premieres on Disney+ on May 20.
