Benedict Cumberbatch is set to star in two very exciting cinema releases later this year - and they couldn't be more different from each-other.

Billed as a sexually charged western, here's our first look at Netflix's upcoming cinema and streaming release, 'The Power of the Dog'.

The movie sees Benedict Cumberbatch lead an all-star cast which includes Kirsten Dunst, Jesse Plemons and Kodi Smit-McPhee. The movie was shot in New Zealand and was helmed by Oscar-winning director Jane Campion ('The Piano').

From what we can see in the slightly off-putting trailer below, Cumberbatch plays a wealthy and fear-inducing rancher named Phil Burbank. But when his brother George (Plemons) brings home a new wife Rose (Dunst) and her son Peter (Smit-McPhee), Phil begins to torment his new guests. However, he appears to strike up a close connection with Peter, which could be further menace - or something else entirely.

Benedict Cumberbatch's other big release this winter will be when he appears alongside Tom Holland in the superhero sequel 'Spider-Man: No Way Home', reprising his role as Doctor Strange. The movie will lead into his Marvel character's second movie entitled 'Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness', set for release in March, 2022.

'The Power of the Dog' will be in select theatres this November, followed by its Netflix release on December 1.
