Very exciting news of a Friday morning, Fresh Prince of Bel-Air is coming back to our TV screens with Will Smith at the helm. The star won't be in front of the camera this time round however, but will serve as executive producer along with his wife Jada Pinkett-Smith, James Lassiter and Caleeb Pinkett.

According to TVLine the show is in "the very early stages of developing a present-day family comedy that puts a new spin on the fish-out-of-water tale while maintaining the spirit of Fresh Prince."

Smith's company Overbrook Entertainment is said to be finalising its pitch at the moment and will be shopping it around to the networks shortly. We'd imagine it will be picked up fairly fast considering the current craze for 90s TV show reboots.

Fresh Prince was the show that launched Will Smith's career and ran for six series until it ended in 1996. It was a story all about how his life got flipped-turned upside down.... sure you know the rest.
