We're always a bit worried when a network decides to reboot a classic series because there's a strong and realistic fear that they will just taint the memory of the original by bringing back a show that only really worked in its time.
That is very much the case for Roseanne, the classic American sitcom that is returning shortly after more than twenty years off the air, however after watching the trailer, it seems they still have held onto some of that magic of the original.
Roseanne originally ran from 1988 to 1997 and followed the story of a blue-collar family in Illinois. Pretty much all of the cast are returning too, including Roseanne Barr (Roseanne Conner), John Goodman (Dan Conner), Laurie Metcalf (Roseanne’s sister Jackie), Sara Gilbert (Darlene Conner), Lecy Goranson (Becky Conner), Sarah Chalke (who replaced Goranson as Becky in 1993), and Michael Fishman (D.J. Conner). Even Johnny Galecki, who played Darlene’s boyfriend-turned-husband, will return for one episode.
In case you are wondering just how Goodman could come back given that his character supposedly died in the final episode, don't worry, thankfully the show is ignoring that bizarre finale which saw the reveal that the entire series was actually a story written by Roseanne Conner about her life and pretty much messed up everything you knew and loved about the show.
They don't mess about with flagging this either, as you will see in the trailer below:
