We know we have no authority to decide who YOUR particular favourite Game of Thrones characters are, but we are pretty sure that the majority of viewers have a soft spot for this pair.

It seems we will be losing yet another Stark in season five, well, temporarily anyways as it's emerged that Bran Stark will not feature. And if we have no Bran, we also have no Hodor! (Hodor?)

It was actually Irish actor Kristin Nairn who plays Hodor (Hodor?) who let the cat out of the bag, in an interview with Yahoo News, he said; "We have a season off and we have a year’s hiatus, solely because I imagine our storyline is up to the end of the books.” Which he added was great news for his DJing career as he said "I get my year off now to do Rave of Thrones and gallivant all over the world.”
Guess if we are missing Hodor too much we can take comfort in knowing he may be coming to a nightclub near you soon!

The last we saw of Bran and Hodor, they had reached Bran’s three-eyed crow mentor, which is pretty much as far as the characters have got to in the books. This will be the first time a major character has been completely left out of a season, so no doubt will leave some fans very unhappy. Bran already is a far cry from the young lad we met in season one though, so we probably won't even recognise him come season six.

The fifth season of the show is set to be primarily in the new location of Dorne, with a whole host of characters joining the series. Dorne is where the lovely Oberyn Martell was from, so if they even have half as much swagger as him, we should be in for quite a season.
