Well about ruddy time, this show had passed the point of painful, long ago rolled over the hills of cringe and the shark is so far away since it was jumped over, it's a dot on the horizon. Okay enough with the analogies now, but look, we won't miss it, in summary.
Yes the show had its moments back in the day when it first started, Charlie Sheen walking around being all Charlie Sheen-y, the little kid and his cutesie one-liners, however when the child star of your show starts to look like this, it's time to throw in the towel.
That ain't no half man.
In a #winning move, Sheen abandoned ship on the show back in 2011 (well, was pretty publicly sacked after drug problems). However, determined to prove that no player was bigger than the team, they hired Ashton Kutcher to step in as the resident rich-guy-ladies-man and killed off Sheen's character (cos' that's just comedy gold). The whole show morphed into almost a parody of itself that not even the flowing locks of Kutcher could save.
Actor Angus T. Jones, who played Jake on the show went his own way back in 2012 after he declared he was a 'paid hypocrite' and called the show 'filth’. Although, this was after he had spent a rather long time with the folk of the Seventh-day Adventist Church.
Finally now, the show has called it a day, or rather its network has, as CBS has said the series will end next year after its twelfth season. CBS entertainment chairman Nina Tassler made the announcement yesterday during a press briefing saying that "(Writer) Chuck Lorre is creating a season-long event. He is very psyched about this. He's got some great ideas and very big surprises."
