Netflix is slowly but surely taking over the world. Last year, it had an estimated 126 original series or films, more than any other network or cable channel, and just last month, it reported having over 98 million subscribers worldwide.
High Speed Internet has done some impressive number crunching, and asked some questions you never knew you wanted the answers to about the service, like what are the most popular Netflix series by country, what is the most popular Netflix show in the world, and where in the world is Netflix the most popular?
Well, the top five most popular shows (bearing in mind that these stats take into account all TV series on Netflix, not just originals) are as follows:
1. Sherlock
2. Friends
3. Narcos
4. House of Cards
5. New Girl
In Ireland, the most popular Netflix show is (*drum roll*…) Black Mirror.
Ireland also rated high for number of subscribers. While most of them (53%) are based in the United States, out of the remaining 47%, the places most interested in Netflix are Canada, Ireland, Australia, the United Kingdom, New Zealand, Puerto Rico, Denmark, and Norway.
