Are you sitting down? Good.

Legend of Zelda could be getting a TV series on Netflix. The classic videogame series will be getting its first live-action adaptation by the VOD service.

It's understood that Nintendo and Netflix are working together to develop titles for possible series, with Zelda being the foremost choice for both parties.

A writer is currently being selected who will draft a script for the powers that be and a decision will be made to progress from there.

First released in 1987, The Legend of Zelda is one of Nintendo's most popular games series and spawned several sequels and a short-lived animated series in the 1990's.

The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina Of Time and Majora's Mask were two of the highest-selling videogames for the classic Nintendo 64.

The videogame series has some famous fans, too. Robin Williams named his eldest daughter, Zelda, after the videogame character.
