If you've been watching the news lately and you see / hear people talking about ISIS and your mind wanders back to Sterling Archer and his fictional agency, you're a terrible person.

And we totally understand. It happens to us too.

Unsurprisingly, the makers of Archer have quietly dropped ISIS - which in the TV show stands for International Secret Intelligence Service - and have said that they're not bringing it back either.

Last season saw Archer and the gang at ISIS become drug traffickers, rebranding the entire show as Archer Vice. It was fantastic.

Now, however, showrunner Adam Reed has said it won't be a thing any longer. "We were waiting for it to go away," explained Reed.

Executive producer Matt Thompson went on, saying "It's just the most awful thing and we didn't want to have anything to do with it."

Meanwhile, Season 6 is due to start back in January and will see Archer, Mallory, Lana and the rest of the gang return as underlings for the CIA instead of ISIS.
