It's only a matter of weeks now until there will be more celebrity shoes hitting the dance floor for the 2018 series of 'Strictly Come Dancing', and today the show has revealed who one of those famous faces will be.

First up is TV presenter Katie Piper who made the announcement during Monday's BBC Breakfast. The mother of two said: "I feel so privileged and excited to be part of my favourite show on TV. I already know how much of an amazing experience it will be for me and I can’t wait to show my girls some of my new dance moves."

She continued: "I'm nervous to put on my dancing shoes but can’t wait to learn a new skill and have the Strictly tan and makeover."

34-year-old Katie rose to prominence back in 2008 when she waved her anonymity as an acid attack victim and fronted a Channel 4 documentary called 'Katie: My Beautiful Face' which lead to a follow-up series and a best-selling autobiography.

Since then, she has gone on to present a number of TV shows including the Channel 4 television series 'Bodyshockers' while she has also established a charity, The Katie Piper Foundation, to raise awareness of the plight of victims of burns and other disfigurement injuries.

While Katie is the first official contestant to be revealed for the new series of 'Strictly Come Dancing', it's also rumoured that Steps star Faye Tozer is in the lineup as well as cricketer Graeme Swann and Pussycat Dolls singer Ashley Roberts. More names will be announced soon.
