The Great American Baking Competition: Doesn't roll off the tongue as nicely as The Great British Bake Off now does it? Nevertheless, the Americans are taking on the Bake Off and they've asked Paul Hollywood to come over to y'know, judge the thing. What is he now? The Simon Cowell of baking? We see him as more of a Len Goodman.
The Bake Off judge took to Twitter, just like all the other slebs of late, to share his news. "The American version will be fascinating for me, don't know how they'll cope with me, mind!", Hollywood tweeted, while also confirming that he would still be around to judge the British Bake Off too.
What then of his fellow judge, Mary Berry? Well, word on the street is she was approached by US telly bosses at CBS late last year, but the thought of being away from home for a long time really put her off. We're happy enough to hear she'll be staying put on this side of the Atlantic.
As for The Great American Baking Competition (still think it's a bit of a meh name for it), it will be hitting US screens on CBS around May 29th, while Hollywood's Bread makes its way to the BBC next Wednesday (March 13th).
