Sharon Horgan has yet another success to add to her growing list as it has today been announced that Amazon Studios has closed an exclusive two-year overall deal with the BAFTA-nominated writer.
As well as this personal deal, Horgan and co-founder Clelia Mountford’s entertainment company, Merman, also signed a deal, with Amazon Studios getting first-look rights to Merman concepts to which Horgan is attached and remake rights to Merman-produced television series.
Horgan's comedy series Catastrophe, which she co-wrote with comedian Rob Delaney, is carried by Amazon in the US and has earned the duo an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Writing for a Comedy Series. Horgan is also the creator and executive producer of HBO’s Divorce, which hails from Merman and Kapital, and co-creator of Motherland for BBC Two.
