It's being heralded as one of the best Saturday Night Live sketches in years, mainly because of the surprise element and the superb comedic skills of Melissa McCarthy. Now the man being portrayed, Sean Spicer, has responded.
The White House press officer was at The Superbowl and spoke of how he was coming out of Church on Sunday morning when his phone "lit up."
Spicer told Extra that the Ghostbusters actress "needs to slow down on the gum chewing; way too many pieces in there." And although he thought it was a really "funny" show, he felt that it could be "dialed back" a bit.
While Spicer had previously tweeted his love of the show Entourage, it turns out he was also a fan of SNL... up until recently. "Alec (Baldwin) has gone from funny to mean, and that's unfortunate. 'SNL' used to be really funny. There's a streak of meanness now that they've crossed over to mean."
There's a lot of things wrong with that last statement, but the most glaring thing about it is a complete lack of self-awareness in seemingly everyone in that administration.
