Although they still all hang out with one another and all of them are regularly seen together on the convention circuit, this photo of the cast of 'Star Trek: The Next Generation' is kicking off rumours about a possible reunion episode for Patrick Stewart's upcoming standalone series.
As you may recall, it was confirmed some weeks ago that Patrick Stewart is returning to 'Star Trek' for a series that follows Jean-Luc Picard after the events of 'Star Trek: Nemesis', the last movie to feature his character. While there's been no word on plot details or an air-date, there's been endless speculation as to whether or not the original cast from 'Star Trek: The Next Generation' would appear in the new series.
While this photo doesn't confirm or deny anything, it's definitely interesting to note who's there.
The gang’s all here. Well most of them anyway. #friendship #TNG pic.twitter.com/We8rwljHJ5

You've got LeVar Burton AKA Geordi LaForge, Gates McFadden AKA Beverly Crusher, Patrick Stewart AKA Picard obviously, and then you've got Marina Sirtis AKA Deanna Troi and, on the right, you've got Brent Spiner and Michael Dorn AKA Data and Worf. The one person who's absent is, of course, 'Ol Two-Takes Frakes AKA Commander Riker. Was he taking the photo? Who knows.
Either way, don't be in the least bit surprised if any one of these turns up in the new series when it arrives in the coming years.
