Rehearsal for James Corden's new US talk show are NOT going well it seems

As you probably already know, James Corden landed a brand new US gig a while back to take over from long running talk show host Craig Ferguson on his Late Late Show.

We have yet to see a live version of the programme but rehearsals are currently underway in LA and apparently things are not going well. Audiences members are complaining his British accent is tough to understand (they should have met Smithy), with others saying it was boring and nothing different than they've seen before.

Tough crowd.

It's been said that CBS bosses have been worried about how the host will be received, hence all this rehearsal time, but if ever there was a time to mess up it's in rehearsals, right?

And come on, they find James' accent to understand? Do they realise who he is replacing? Craig Ferguson is a funny, funny man but he sounds like he just dropped straight in from the Scottish highlands.

Corden has previously admitted that this move to America, along with his wife and two kids was 'the biggest gamble of his life'.

A source on the programme told the Daily Mail that they needed to ‘iron out the glitches and find out what works’, adding: ‘The US audience is totally different to anything James has experienced before. It’s been a real rollercoaster of highs and lows.’

While a British audience member also said; ‘The show was pretty predictable. The main difference between this one and the other American late-night shows is that the guests walked out and sat on the sofa together. It’s more like Graham Norton’s show in format.

‘There were skits and jokes and a house band. He made the effort to engage the audience and invited everyone up on to the stage at the end to dance.

'But there’s nothing revolutionary about it. He’s likeable but won’t win any originality awards. He was trying very hard, though. The tone of the show is sweet.’

There is certainly a lot of pressure on Corden out there, but we reckon he has what it takes to pull it out of the bag, and if not, he would undoubtedly be welcomed back over this side of the pond with open arms.
