At this stage you are probably fed up to your eyeballs with summer television which is basically just crammed full of repeats and twenty-year-old movies, so you'll be happy to hear that the Autumn schedule for RTE One is fairly jam packed with brand new shows, the return of some of our favourites as well as documentaries and up to 600 hours of home-produced programming.

Glen Killane, MD RTÉ Television, said today: “As Ireland’s public service multimedia organisation, RTÉ is committed to delivering the broadest range of value-for-money programming on RTÉ One. This season RTÉ One will deliver the best in Sunday night drama, landmark documentaries and big family entertainment. Ireland’s biggest channel will be living up to its deserved reputation for quality programming mixed with the very latest, in-depth news and current affairs.”

The station is also upping its game in the area of online and on demand with Acting RTÉ One Channel Controller Ryle Nugent adding; "This season we’re offering viewers more exclusive programme content on RTÉ Player with new web exclusives and behind-the-scenes access on shows such as Ireland’s Fittest Family and Fair City. We’re offering our content on multiple channels and platforms including RTÉ One +1, RTÉ News Now and RTÉ Player so viewers can engage with RTÉ One content whenever and wherever they are.

So in short, there is plenty on offer, so that means there will be nobody complaining about where their license fee money is going anymore, hurrah! Yeah, we know that's too optimistic.

Have a look at some of what's on offer below;

RTE Drama

The Fall and Love/Hate will be returning to RTE this Autumn and that's not the only place we will see Nidge, as Tom Vaughan-Lawlor is starring alongside Aidan Gillen in a new three-part drama called Charlie about former Taoiseach Charlie Haughey.
