After three years away from it, Jessica Lange is on her way back to 'American Horror Story' for its upcoming eighth season, reprising her role as Constance Langdon.

The news was confirmed by Sarah Paulson on Friday night, who said that Lange is back for one episode which Paulson herself will direct. The upcoming season will be set eighteen months in the future and will actually be about the end of the world as we know it, which should be pretty nuts to say the least. The character Lange played was last seen, chronologically speaking, in 'Murder House' kidnapping her grandson, who'll be played by Cody Fern in the upcoming season.

Lange drew a line under her time on the series in 2015 and went off to work on Ryan Murphy's other project, 'Feud', with Susan Sarandon playing Bette Davis and Lange playing Joan Crawford. However, for whatever reason, she's back in for the eighth season. Paulson, meanwhile, will be playing dual roles from 'American Horror Story: Coven', where she played Cordelia, and the first season of 'American Horror Story', where she played Billie Dean Howard.

On top of this, FX renewed the series for two more seasons, but cautioned that the tenth season will most likely be its last. 'American Horror Story: Apocalypse' returns on September 12th.
