Well, that's fair enough Peter given what you’re proposing is effectively Lorraine Kelly Overkill.
To recap; to say Adrian Chiles and Christine Bleakley didn't work out is something of an understatement. They left with little fanfare last December. ITV then had old reliable stand-in hosts Kate Garraway and Dan Lobb as "interim hosts" while they found suitable replacements.
Seemingly they had a bit of trouble doing so, as they've opted to go with Lorraine Kelly and Aled Jones. After hosting Daybreak, Lorraine will go on to host her usual live chat show, Lorraine, from 8.30am - 9.30am. 'Cause we just can't get enough of her.
Speaking of the new(ish) format, ITV's Peter Fincham said: "Daybreak will have a new studio and a new on-air look... We're particularly excited about Lorraine and Aled joining as presenters. We have a very strong editorial team who are committed to making this show as good as it possibly can be, but it's something that doesn't happen overnight."
Particularly when you shunt two randomers in to host the show between 6am and 7am, lest Lorraine suffers a sleep-deprivation fuelled nervous breakdown. Digital Spy reports that 5 News presenter Matt Barbet and BBC North West Tonight co-anchor Ranvir Singh have been asked to fulfill that honour.
Lorraine will be adding to her hours from Monday September 3rd.
