It was announced on Tuesday after weeks of speculation that Chris Evans would take over as host of Top Gear, but every good presenter these days needs some solid wing men, particularly on a show like this.

And apparently there have been people applying as far as way as Kazakhstan looking for the gig. At least that's what Chris Evans said on The One Show last night, he also outlined the criteria for the role saying; "You've got to know something about cars - you can be a mechanic, you can be an amateur racing driver, you can be a guy who's a fireman but has been building his own Land Rover in his shed for five or 10 years... but you've got to know about cars."

He also added that the hosts could be "male, female, young or old, it doesn't matter".

Evans also chatted about how he feels about taking over from Clarkson saying; "I loved Top Gear just the way it was. Believe me, I'm number one in the world who doesn't want it to change."

Don't know about you, but after all that TFI Friday nostalgia last week, we are dying to see what Evans does with the gig.
