Once upon a time there was light in the UK's Eurovision life, now they basically take a shot in the dark, by sending one of their former international stars every year. This time it's Bonnie Tyler who is Sweden bound.

The former music legend will be competing with a brand new track called 'Believe In Me', taken from her upcoming album. 'Holding Out For A Hero' or 'Total Eclipse of the Heart' it is not folks.Still, at least she can sing.

We can't help but wonder if the UK are doing this on purpose, y'know, sending reputable acts like The Hump, Bonnie and errr, Blue, so that when they don't do very well they can roll out the 'block voting' excuse. And before you go arguing that they just don't want to shell out and host it remember, the UK are one of the Big Five (France, Spain, Germany and Italy complete the group) who pump all the cash into Eurovision every year.

We stil hold the record for the most Eurovision victories by the way. Do you think Ryan Dolan can add to it in Malmo in May?
