(No spoilers but does include a fan theory)
We are now five seasons into the global sensation that is the Game of Thrones series, but it's emerged it may never have come to our TV screens if showrunners David Benioff and DB Weiss hadn't been able to answer one question correctly.
When the pair went to George RR Martin with the idea to make his books into a TV series, the author told them they could do so if they answered one question; who is Jon Snow's real mother?
Luckily for all of us, the pair answered correctly as they were huge fans of the books and were able to give an educated guess.
The rest of us are still none the wiser but we do adhere to the R+L=J theory which surmises that Jon is in fact the son of Rhaegar Targaryen and Lyanna Stark (Ned's sister), and while it seems like that's what they have been pointing towards, we, like Jon Snow, know nothing.
But we're glad Benioff and Weiss did!
