Last week brought the news that US network CW had given the green light for a rebooted series of the hit late-nineties/early-noughties show Charmed.
One thing we did find curious about the announcement was the description of the new show as a "fierce, funny, feminist reboot of the original series" because, eh, Charmed was always those things.
Former Charmed stars Shannen Doherty and Holly Marie Combs are also not too pleased with this description and they weren't the only ones.
In a Twitter Q&A on Saturday (January 27), Doherty, who played Prue Halliwell on the show from 1998 to 2001, shared her thoughts on the synopsis.
"Their wording is terrible and a bit offensive," she said. "But, everyone makes mistakes. Perhaps with the backlash they will be more thoughtful in future.
"[It's a] very ignorant stupid comment. Perhaps made by a millennial that never watched the show and just read a synopsis on it."

While Holly Marie Combs voiced her opinion on the reboot saying:
Here’s the thing. Until you ask us to rewrite it like Brad Kern did weekly don’t even think of capitalizing on our hard work. Charmed belongs to the 4 of us, our vast amount of writers, crews and predominantly the fans. FYI you will not fool them by owning a title/stamp. So bye.

Doherty however also said later on in the Twitter fan Q&A that she wasn't necessarily against the idea of a revival of the series saying: "Im intrigued by the idea that a new generation might be comforted, inspired like all you were," she wrote. "Charmed helped us all in some way.
"I hope they respect the original and listen to you all and make a show that's inspired by Charmed that focuses on what's important in life."
