Production of the upcoming season of Catfish has been halted amid sexually harrassment allegations against host Nev Schulman.
A former guest on the reality show has recently posted videos on YouTube implying that Nev sexually harassed her during shooting of the program in 2015. Ayissha Morgan posted two YouTube videos saying how "the main person" on the show, whom she called "Jack" as a pseudonym, repeatedly harassed her during production.
"Anything you can possibly say to make someone extremely uncomfortable," Ms. Morgan said in the first of two videos (she posted the second one on condition of getting 500 likes on the first one).
A spokesperson for MTV said in a statement: "We take these allegations very seriously. We're working with Critical Content, our third-party production company, to conduct a thorough investigation and we've put a pause on shooting until the investigation is completed."
In a statement, Schulman has said: "The behavior described in this video did not happen. I'm fortunate that there are a number of former colleagues who were present during this time period who are willing to speak up with the truth. I have always been transparent about my life and would always take responsibility for my actions -- but these claims are false."
Schulman has co-hosted Catfish with Max Joseph since 2012 and the show follows the pair as they investigate who the real faces are behind people's online love interests. It was currently filming its eighth season.
