It's been a little while since we heard from Chris O'Dowd (last time we saw him he was winning IFTAs and sexing up This Is 40) so we were only too delighted when the trailer for his upcoming HBO comedy, Family Tree, dropped today. It's all a bit Who Do You Think You Are? with a bit of a twist.
Written by Christopher Guest, the man behind This Is Spinal Tap, and Best In Show, Family Tree tells the tale of a 30-year-old who sets off on a journey of self-discovery. Tom Chadwick (O'Dowd) wants to find out more about his family history, but has no idea what he's letting himself in for, and comes across a number of errrr, rather eccentric characters from his family's past.
The show's cast is outstanding, with the likes of Fred Willard (Anchorman) and Guest himself making appearances. Be sure to catch the first series when it debuts on BBC 2 later this year.
