Brace yourselves people, your Saturday nights are never going to be the same again as Dermot O'Leary has been cut from his presenting role on The X Factor after eight years on the show.
O'Leary replaced original X Factor host Kate Thornton back in 2007 and has seen seven judges come and go on the show in his eight year run.
The news comes this evening from The Sun, who allegedly have an exclusive on the story.

Dermot himself also took to Twitter to share the news.
Good afternoon. After eight wonderful years on @TheXFactor it's time for me to move on.

I'd like to thank ITV, Simon, The X Factor family and particularly the viewers, all of whom have been a big part of my life for so long.

I'd like to wish the team all the best for the future, especially whoever takes over from me.

You're about to be the conductor on the most brilliant, runaway train in showbiz. Good luck you'll love it.

We for one are going to miss Dermot and his dancing. Not many people could hold down the fort on the roundabout of madness that is The X Factor and manage to keep it entertaining, so whoever comes along next has got some pretty big shoes to fill.
