Anthony McPartlin, better known as Ant from Ant & Dec, has checked himself into rehab for treatment.
In a statement released to The Sun, McPartlin explained that his addiction began when he became addicted to prescription painkillers following a knee operation. This, in turn, led to depression and anxiety issues, which only deepened his addictions.
"The first step is to admit to yourself you need help. I feel like I have let a lot of people down and for that I am truly sorry," said McPartlin, who has checked into an undisclosed centre for a period two months. "I’ve spoken out because I think it’s important that people ask for help if they’re going through a rough time and get the proper treatment to help their recovery."
Per The Sun's report, McPartlin checked himself in last night following a further operation on Tuesday, which has left him wheelchair-bound for the next six weeks.
