A trailer for the Coen Brothers’ latest movie, ‘The Ballad of Buster Scruggs’, has dropped. As is familiar territory for the writer-directors, having produced ‘True Grit’ and ‘No Country for Old Men’ in the past, the film is a western.
‘The Ballad of Buster Scruggs’ is a six-part anthology movie that was originally going to be a TV series.
It has been described “as a series of tales about the American frontier told through the unique and incomparable voice of Joel and Ethan Coen. Each chapter tells a distinct story about the American West.”
The cast lined up includes Liam Neeson and Brendan Gleeson and it marks the Coens’ first foray into streaming. Tim Blake Nelson plays the titular character.
Other cast members include Willie Watson as The Kid, David Krumholtz as Frenchman in Saloon, Stephen Root, Ralph Ineson as The Man in Black, Harry Melling as Artist, Tom Waits as Prospector, Zoe Kazan as Alice Longabaugh, Bill Heck as Billy Knapp, Grainger Hines as Mr. Arthur, Jackamoe Buzzell as Another Man, Tyne Daly as Lady, Jonjo O’Neill as Englishman, Saul Rubinek as Frenchman, and Chelcie Ross as Trapper.
After recently premiering at the Venice International Film Festival, where it won the Golden Osella Award for Best Screenplay, 'The Ballad of Buster Scruggs' arrives on Netflix on November 16th.
