Where are the 'Umbrella Academy' now? Hopefully all will be revealed in season two. *Attention: season one spoilers below*

While rumblings of a second season have been rumoured ever since its launch on Netflix, no details were ever confirmed from the huge streaming giant. But now we can rest easy, as season two of 'Umbrella Academy' has finally been green-lit.

Based on the comic-book series created by My Chemical Romance frontman Gerard Way, the Netflix series follows a rag-tag team of super-powered siblings who were all adopted by a mad scientist of sorts. In season one of the show, the family must try to put their skeletons back in the closet, and join forces once again to try to stop the world from being destroyed. The season ended on a cliffhanger, resulting in the siblings putting all of their trust on Number Five, and time-travelling to... somewhere.

And now, it looks like we're going to get all of our questions answered come season two. Production on the second season is expected to be underway this May, and finishing up in September. The plot line remains a complete mystery at this stage, as well as when we'll actually get to see the series return. Early-to-mid 2020 would be an educated guess, all things considered. Season one arrived on Netflix in February this year, so unless they want to rush out the follow-up, it will probably come a little bit later.

Since its launch, breakout actor Aidan Gallagher, who plays the scene-stealing Number Five, has been swatting away at fan theories on Twitter.

Good news all round really, but we'll have a little while to wait until the series actually returns. In case you missed it, here's 10 things you might not know about 'Umbrella Academy'.
