In news just in stateside, it's emerged that Netflix's House of Cards will return for its final season, without Kevin Spacey.

The drama series will resume production in the New Year and there will be an eight-episode season which will see Robin Wright taking the lead.

Netflix content chief Ted Sarandos said in an announcement, "We are excited to bring closure to fans."

While he also acknowledged the work of the crew on the show whose jobs have been up in their ever since November.  Production of the show was shutdown when reports first started to emerge about Spacey, who played Frank Underwood on the Netflix Original Series.

It actually shouldn't prove too difficult to write his character out either, as in the Michael Dobbs book that inspired the Netflix series, Frank dies.

Whether they follow that storyline or come up with an entirely different exit for the character remains to be seen. Either way, it's Claire Underwood's House of Cards now.
