Henry Cavill is heading to the small screen once more for a new Netflix series called 'The Witcher'
Based on the best-selling fantasy series of the same name, Cavill will take on the role of Geralt of Rivia, a solitary monster hunter struggling to find his place in the world. However when he encounters a powerful sorceress and a young princess with a dangerous secret, the three must learn to navigate the increasingly volatile Continent together.

This will mark Cavill's first television role since 2010's 'The Tudors'. Since then he has of course made his mark on the big screen as Superman as well as most recently starring in 'Mission: Impossible – Fallout'.
'The Witcher' is set to be an eight-episode series that will see Lauren Schmidt Hissrich serve as executive producer and showrunner.
'The Witcher' began as a series of short stories published in Poland by author Andrzej Sapkowski in the 1980s, with the most recent novel 'Season of Storms' published in 2013. The series has also been adapted into a popular video game franchise as well as comic books and tabletop games.
