In a series of since-deleted tweets, Charlie Brooker slapped down rumours of a sequel to the fan-favourite episode of the third season of 'Black Mirror'. An article by Complex alleged that Brooker was working on sequel episodes to 'San Junipero' and 'White Bear' for the upcoming fifth season on Netflix.

However, in a particularly succinct tweet, Brooker simply said 'Nope' to the story. The outlet who wrote the story, Complex, cited a passage from an upcoming book on the production of 'Black Mirror'. Specifically, an interview with Brooker explained that he was thinking about ways to expand the worlds in certain episodes.

As an example, Brooker said that 'San Junipero' was one such episode. "I wouldn’t necessarily want to revisit those characters, because we’re very happy with where they ended up and their story," he said. "But that’s not to say that we couldn’t revisit that world, if there was a compelling reason to do so."

To be fair, he's right. 'San Junipero' ended on a beautiful note and nobody needs to have that moment shattered. Everyone watching that episode was expecting an ending where it all finished up terribly for them, so why ruin that?

Plus, 'San Junipero' isn't an episode that needs a sequel. If you're going to do a sequel, how about something like 'USS Callister'? That absolutely needs a sequel. Not just that, 'White Christmas' could easily be explored in deeper detail than what we saw.
