The trailer for season 3 of '13 Reasons Why' is here.

'13 Reasons Why' has proven controversial for Netflix. The streaming service recently cut a highly criticised scene from season one of the show.

The first two seasons examined the repercussions of the suicide of Hannah Walker (Katherine Langford) on her classmates.

For season 3, it looks like the Liberty High students will be shaken by another death - that of Bryce Walker (Justin Prentice), who was one of Hannah's 'thirteen reasons' for taking her life.

The end of the last season saw Bryce walk away from court with little more than a slap on the wrist after being found guilty of the rape of Jessica Davis (Alisha Boe).

It looks like everyone's a suspect, including lead Clay Jensen (Dylan Minnette), in Bryce's death.

The official Netflix synopsis reads:

“Eight months after preventing Tyler from committing an unthinkable act at Spring Fling, Clay, Tony, Jessica, Alex, Justin, and Zach find ways to shoulder the burden of the cover-up together while helping Tyler move toward recovery. But when the aftermath of a tumultuous Homecoming game culminates in the disappearance of a football player, and Clay finds himself under police scrutiny, it’s up to a shrewd outsider to steer the group through an investigation that threatens to lay bare everyone’s deepest secrets. ”

Aside from the trailer, another major piece of '13 Reasons Why' news dropped. The show will have a fourth season - and it will be its last.

Season 4 is currently in production and will feature the core cast’s graduation from high school.

Season 3 comes to Netflix on August 23.
