The 'Twisted Metal' show has been steadily adding cast members over the last few months, and the show has cast it's Sweet Tooth.
The series' iconic villain will be voiced by Will Arnett, best known for his roles on 'Arrested Development' as failing magician Gob and the titular character on Netflix comedy 'BoJack Horseman'.
Sweet Tooth is the series' most recognisable chracter, and terrorises the series in a doomsday ice cream truck.
Per Variety, Sweet Tooth is described as a "hilarious and terrifying hulk of a man, who is as emotional as he is cunning."
"A lover of chaos, this majestic rage-filled killer dons an ever-smiling clown mask and uses “Lost Vegas” as his own personal kill-ground, all while he drives his infamous doomsday ice cream truck."
Arnett will also serve as an executive producer on the series which is in the works at streaming service Peacock.
The show has already assembled a stellar cast of actors, with Marvel star Anthony Mackie in the lead role, 'Scream' star Neve Campbell, 'Encanto' and 'Brooklyn Nine-Nine' star Stephanie Beatriz and Oscar nominee Thomas Haden Church rounding out the colourful cast of characters.
Mackie's character has been described as a "motor-mouthed outsider who is offered a chance at a better life, but only if he can successfully deliver a mysterious package across a post-apocalyptic wasteland."
Mackie will be joined on his travels by Beatriz, a "trigger-happy car thief", and the pair will face savage marauders driving vehicles of destruction and other dangers of the open road.
The first 'Twisted Metal' game was released for the PlayStation 1 back in 1995 and was a hit franchise for Sony.
A darker, grittier reboot 'Twisted Metal: Black' was released in 2001 for the PlayStation 2 and was a critical and commercial hit, but the franchise remained dormant until another reboot for the PlayStation 3 in 2012.
The 2012 version of 'Twisted Metal' sold well but received more mixed reviews for its story mode. an unorthodox control scheme and for introducing cover shooter mechanics to the vehicular combat series.
The 'Twisted Metal' show will be adapted by 'Deadpool' and 'Zombieland' writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick for Peacock, which means that Irish viewers will be able to watch the show on NowTV when it launches.
