Recap podcasts like 'West Wing Weekly' and 'Office Ladies' have proved a huge hit with listeners, so it was only a matter of time before 'The Sopranos' got in on the action.
Per Deadline, 'Talking Sopranos' will see series cast members Michael Imperioli and Steve Schirripa - that's Christopher Moltisanti and Bobby Baccalieri - take on each and every episode of the series. The podcast will launch on Apple, Spotify, YouTube and all other podcast platforms this coming April.
As well as starring in the show, Imperioli also wrote some of the key episodes of the series, including 'From Where to Eternity' - the one where Paulie Walnuts goes to a seance - and was a producer as well. The podcast will also have regular guests, including fellow cast members, writers, directors, producers and probably a couple of celebrity fans of the series thrown in there too.
The podcast couldn't have come at a more opportune moment, with 'The Many Saints of Newark' - the prequel movie set decades before the series - due to arrive in cinemas in September.
In the trailer for the series (yes, podcasts have trailers), Imperioli freely admitted that he hasn't watched the series since it aired, but added that they will be going through the series episode by episode.
Let's see if the podcast has the makings of a varsity athlete.
