It's not very often that a comedy series comes along which completely embodies that horrific feeling of moving to a new school, making friends with completely unlikeable arseholes, and ultimately win us over in the process with its crude humour and stellar physical comedy. 'The Inbetweeners' was one such show.

With three series and two movies under their belt, as well as a rather questionable studio return to the British institution in January last year, now the creators of the comedy show are back with a brand new comedy series 'The First Team' which sounds like it could rival their original hit.

Series creators and writers Damon Beesley and Iain Morris will see their new comedy series arrive on BBC Two next month. 'The First Team' will follow the drama and misadventures of three members of a football team who are struggling with various levels of authority while playing the sport - and they'll be joined by some familiar faces on and off the pitch.

The hilarious Will Arnett from 'Arrested Development' and 'Bojack Horseman' stars in the series as the football team's eccentric American Chairman. Arnett will be joined by Tamla Kari who played Simon's girlfriend Lucy in 'The Inbetweeners' movies, Theo Barklem Biggs who also starred in the first movie entry, and Chris Geere who played Arvin in 'Modern Family'None of the original stars from 'The Inbetweeners' are expected to return - but we reckon a guest appearance or two might be on the cards.

Anticipation is high for the series considering what's come from the comedy writers in the past, so be sure to catch 'The First Team' when it broadcasts on BBC Two on Thursday nights, kicking off this May.
