A member of the Royal Family that we haven't yet seen depicted on screen is to appear in an upcoming season of 'The Crown' on Netflix.
Prince Andrew, the man who used to be friends with paedophile Jeffrey Epstein, has been cast in the next series of the hit TV show. An as-yet-unknown British actor, 25-year-old Tom Byrne, has been cast in the role of The Duke of York.
Byrne has only had brief roles in a couple of TV dramas in the past, starring in Sky One's 'A Discovery of Witches' and Charlie Brooker's 'Black Mirror' anthology series. According to various sources, the young actor's biggest role to date will see him play Prince Andrew during the upcoming fourth season of 'The Crown'.
To give you a small bit of background info on him, Prince Andrew is the third child and second son of Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip. We'll likely meet him in the series as he gets ready to marry his wife Fergie, The Duchess of York, whom he married at the age of 26. The couple's marriage didn't last terribly long, and they famously divorced in 1996. The pair share custody of their two daughters Beatrice and Eugenie.
More recently however, Andrew has been thrown into the spotlight as he faces charges being placed against him by Virginia Roberts. Roberts claims that Prince Andrew had sexual relations with her when she was just 17.
There's been no word as to when we'll see the next series of 'The Crown' hit our screens, but expect an announcement from Netflix in the coming months. Anticipation for the next entry in the Royal Family's affairs is high following the casting of 'Sex Education' and 'X Files' actress Gillian Anderson as Margaret Thatcher. Leaked photos recently showed the actress on set, which divided fans of the show.
For now, we'll just have to re-watch the season three trailer - or begin to watch the series if you haven't already.
