'Game of Thrones' will never be able to shake off the shackles of its terrible, terrible ending. The fantasy TV series was hugely popular for its eight season run. But those final episodes left fans bitterly disappointed.
Those who watched the show will recall the legacy left by Ned Stark, played by Sean Bean, after his death.
The patriarch of the Stark family was beheaded in the penultimate episode of season 1 and that's when 'Game of Thrones' really kicked off.
Sean Bean recently admitted that following Ned's exit from the series, he stopped paying attention to the show.
In an interview with The Times, the actor expressed feeling content with where 'Game of Thrones' left the House of Stark.
The interview with Sean Bean reads: "I have a silly question about whether the end of 'Game of Thrones,' when the Starks’ inward-looking kingdom secedes from the rest of the continent, had any parallels with Brexit. It’s wasted on Bean. As is his unbothered way, he didn’t keep up with the show after Ned had his head chopped off at the end of season one.
"So he hasn’t seen the final episode? 'No. What happened?' Does he really want to know? Surely he may watch it one day. 'I’ll have forgotten by then, go on.'
"I describe how Ned’s son becomes king of Westeros and his daughter queen of the North. 'So did Winterfell stay separate? Oh, good for them,' he says with grandfatherly vagueness."
