In the winter of 1963, Johnny Cash played a tour of small venues around Ireland and has gone largely undocumented - until now, that is.
RTÉ are putting together a documentary of the Man In Black's tour of Ireland, where he played concerts in Cavan, Dundalk, Mallow, Limerick, Kilkenny, Mullingar, Athy, Galway, Rush and Dublin. Only a handful of audio recordings exist of Cash's concerts, so RTÉ is hoping someone happened to have old footage in their attic.
Cash was easily at the height of his popularity when he toured Ireland, having sold close to 11 million records by that stage, and had only just released one of his most well-known songs, 'Ring of Fire', five months prior to touring Ireland.
RTÉ is looking to talk those who were either at the concert, or even happened to record some of the footage. You can get in contact with them via e-mail or you can call 01-2083519.
