We don't know what the BBC are thinking with this because it's taking masochistic TV viewing to a whole new level.

Tom Hardy and his recently deceased dog Woody will return to CBeebies' Bedtime Story for one last tale this month on National Dog Day as the actor reads 'Fleabag', a story about the friendship between a little boy and a dog who needs a home.

CBeebies announced the news and air date for their story on social media this morning, revealing that Tom and Woody "join us for one last story" at 6.50pm on August 26th.

"He recorded the story last year with Woody alongside him and believes the broadcast will be a fitting mark of respect to the memory of his pet," the BBC said, per the Indo.

Woody passed away earlier this year with Hardy penning a lengthy post to him on Tumblr calling him his "angel" and "best friend".

Grab some tissues, this is going to be a sad one.
