The crime series, starring Brendan Gleeson and Harry Treadaway, is based on a trilogy of novels, beginning with 'Mr. Mercedes', followed by 'Finders Keepers' and 'End Of Watch'. Gleeson plays Bill Hodges, a retired detective who's in a game of cat-and-mouse with a highly intelligent psychopath who calls him Mr. Mercedes, played by Harry Treadaway.
Dennis Lehane, who wrote novels such as 'Shutter Island' and 'Gone Baby Gone', will likely remain involved in the writing, as will David E. Kelley and Jack Bender as showrunner and director respectively. The final episode of the second season aired on US television last month, however no air date has been set for Season 3.
