A new drama series set against the backdrop of the current situation we are all living in across the globe is in development over at ITV, and it looks like we'll be getting the short series very soon indeed.
ITV's 'Isolation Stories' will tell the story of different characters while they self-isolate with their families in both a humorous and dramatic way, and each of the four 15-minute episodes will host some of the best British talent both on and off camera.
'Gavin & Stacey' and 'Cilla' star Sheridan Smith is one of the big names attached to the project. The actress and singer is currently heavily pregnant at home, and "jumped at the chance" of telling a unique story of a woman dealing with this time of her life while at home alone.
Smith will star in the first episode of the short series, entitled 'Mel', while the following three instalments will see Eddie Marsan ('Ray Donovan'), David Threlfall ('Shameless'), Darren Boyd ('Killing Eve'), Angela Griffin ('Coronation Street'), Robert Glenister ('Spooks') and his actor son Tom Glenister all undertake their own short episode. ITV have promised that the series will be a "funny, sad, heartwarming and poignant" take on the real-life happenings at the moment.
The four-part series has been executive produced by Jeff Pope, who produced the BAFTA-winning and Oscar-nominated 'Stan & Ollie', alongside Tom Dunbar who has worked on 'Downton Abbey' and 'Inside No. 9' in the past.
Watch out for ITV's 'Isolation Stories', a special four-part series which is expected to arrive on our TV screens very soon.
In terms of ITV's other soap dramas such as 'Coronation Street' and 'Emmerdale', their future remains uncertain right now, as filming has been halted and the dramas may run out of episodes to air in the coming months.
