Joining one of the many productions already set up across the country, the 15th season of the comedy series is underway in Ireland.
The gang of 'It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia' are currently filming the new season in Ireland, and according to an extras listing, they're on the look-out for a new Irish cast member.
According to movieextras.ie, a new job posting states that the 'It's Always Sunny' team are "urgently" looking to cast a Danny DeVito lookalike. We can only imagine what weird/unimaginable heights the new series is aiming for.
The job post reads: "Urgent – Danny DeVito double needed for It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia'.
"Yes, 'It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia' are coming to Ireland! We need a Danny DeVito double. Shooting is this Sunday 29th August and the location is Dublin. Height: 4ft5, Large, Waist pant 41."
Clear your schedules this coming Sunday and get yourselves to Dublin. Or, better yet, do you know anyone who fits the bill?
In case you weren't aware, Dublin already has its very own "Danny Devito lookalike" who has his own dedicated Instagram page. He posted a screenshot of the news story, along with a caption that reads: "I’ve cleared my schedule baby @movieextras.ie." Maybe he'll get a callback.
This will mark the dark comedy's 15th season production, a season which is said to address the Coronavirus pandemic in some way. Maybe Dennis, Mac and the gang all escape to Ireland where they think the virus doesn't exist? Or potentially they're tracing their Irish roots? Regardless, we're sure it'll be random as hell.
The arrival of 'It's Always Sunny' in Ireland sees the production join a number of other movies and TV productions currently shooting in the country. 'Ghostbusters' actor Bill Murray arrived in Ireland last week as part of a golfing documentary he is making, and Amy Adams, Elizabeth Banks and Florence Pugh are all here working on different productions. 'Modern Family' star Jesse Tyler Ferguson was also here on holiday last week. Sure, isn't it great to see it?
